Tuition is based on 12 months of instruction per year, not on the number of lessons in the month. Tuition includes 35 private lessons, 4 class lessons, 2 recitals (for the school year); 8 weeks of summer lessons, and access to various activities outside the studio year.
Tuition payment is due with the first lesson of each month and is late after the 10th. After the 10th, tuition is an additional $10 per student. As a courtesy, a monthly statement will be sent, but if for any reason the statement does not reach you, you are still responsible for your tuition payment to be paid on time.
Fees, payable in advance of lessons, can be made by session(s). Multiply the monthly amount times the number of months you intend to pay. No discount is given for paying in advance. Checks made payable to Myra Lemons Music Studio, Venmo payments send to @Myra-Lemons, cash payments are accepted.
Music is purchased by me and a 20% handling fee is added, including tax. Parents will be notified if music other than the continuing Method Books, assignment notebooks, or music over $10, is needed.
As a courtesy, a monthly statement will be sent with all miscellaneous fees included.
Lessons are never cancelled because of bad weather (even if schools close) Make-ups will not be offered.
Summer Study (8 lessons) is required in order to keep the same lesson time for Fall.
Missed lessons for any reason other than illness and death in the family will not be made up. A trader list is available for exchanging lesson times with other students for any other reason. No credits or refunds are given on missed lessons.
Sickness/Funeral: If a student is unable to attend a lesson because of illness (or a death in the family), please call 913-515-0585 by noon of that day. The student will placed on a make up waiting list and called when time is available. Lessons cancelled after noon of that day will not be made up.
Please give me notice of your intended last lesson one month month prior. You will be responsible for the month’s tuition in which you give notice.
If you desire a different day or time for your child’s lesson, please email me what you need. I keep everyone’s emails and wait until August 1-4 to make all changes at once. During those days, as I work the schedule, I ask that you be near your phone for quick texts and emails.
A daily practice routine is essential for good musical progress. For maximum success, I recommend students practice six days each week, with one day off – preferably not the lesson day.
Practice minutes are assigned to each age and level and should be recorded in a log or assignment notebook. Ribbons and plaques are awarded at recitals for specified milestones.
